What we say, write or sing matters and can affect change. Everything is energy and so is sound. So, when we sing, we essentially send out a positive message to the universe, and when we sing together, not only do we build a relationship with others but also with god which in turn makes us compassionate and empathetic to the needs of others.
The Beach United Church family understands that this is a time when we need peace in the world more than ever. This is especially true in the aftermath of the mass shooting in Toronto, an incident which has shown us that we need to come together as a community for peace and make a difference.
On July 28, we aim to achieve peace through One Day, One Choir, One Song, a unique initiative aimed at bringing together communities to sing a song for peace, and here is the amazing part, you do not need to be a trained singer. Just drop in to learn One Day, sung by Matisyahu and stretch those vocal cords for a day with our choir. The benefits are many; you learn a new song, build a stronger community, better mental and emotional health, and a sense of harmony, something which is a need of the hour.
So if you want to be the change you want to see, come and join your voice with ours. For more information about the event, please contact Steven Webb at firstname.lastname@example.org. You can also RSVP by clicking here.
BUC strives to create an ecosystem where people from diverse walks of life can give back to their community irrespective of their faiths or beliefs. To learn more about us, click on www.beachunitedchurch.com.
