Holding places

Between the streams source,

hidden in the thick woods

bubbling up from the dark

underground wells,

and the sea

with its moon-coaxed tides

and vast anonymity

into which all streams flow:

there are Sabbath ponds;

sweet, safe, calm

holding places where

all kinds of life find refuge.     by Terry Chapman

I hope to experience some of those “holding places” while I am away from August 6 – September 16 Maybe you have dipped into a Sabbath pond or two this summer? I look forward to hearing about that when I return.

All of us need places of refuge from time to time and Beach United Church will continue to provide that in the following ways

  • Sunday morning worship led by Brett Boyko and Jim McKibbin. Music with Steven Webb []
  • Children and youth programming with Dayna Browne []
  • Connecting beyond our walls with the community, led by Nicole Tanti []
  • Communicating our ideas, hopes and dreams through the Heartbeat newsletter and the website; with the help of Vivek Vijayapalan []
  • Caring for each other, which we all can do. However if specific emergency pastoral care is needed, the contacts are below
