Beach United welcomes you to an online performance featuring the talented organist Rashaan Allwood playing romantic greats including Franz Liszt’s symphonic poem ‘Mazeppa’, and Brahm’s Op. 122 for Solo Organ. Rashaan will be joined by his partner and gifted soprano Nadine Anyan to perform Bach’s ‘Komm in mein herzenshaus’, Mozart’s ‘Vado ma dove?’ and ‘Night’ by Florence Price, among others.

Rashaan Rori Allwood is a dynamic and multifaceted musician based out of Toronto, currently pursuing a PhD in Composition at Western University. He is the recipient of the 2022 Marilyn Mason Award in Organ Composition from the American Guild of Organists, who have since commissioned him to compose a new piece for solo organ to be premiered at the 2022 AGO convention in Seattle, Washington. Rashaan was also one of the ICOT call for scores winners for short Piano works by Canadian composers in 2020.
After receiving his Bachelor’s degree in Piano Performance at the University of Toronto, he completed a Master’s degree in Organ Performance at McGill University. Rashaan is now the director of music at St. Ansgar Lutheran Church, Toronto where he regularly premieres his own new works, and organizes various performances for choir and instrumentalists. Canadian born Ghanaian soprano Nadine Anyan holds an Artist Diploma in Voice from the Glenn Gould School at The Royal Conservatory of Music and a Bachelor of Musical Arts degree from Western University. Nadine is presently the soprano section lead and soloist at St. Ansgar Lutheran Church in Toronto. Nadine has performed several operatic roles including: Micaëla in Carmen, Musetta in La Bohème, Chocholka in The Cunning Little Vixen, Lady in a cake box in Postcards from Morocco.
