Heaven

Heaven, I'm in heaven
And my heart beats so that I can hardly speak
And I seem to find the happiness I seek
When we're out together, dancing cheek to cheek

Irving Berlin was one of the most prolific and popular songwriters of the 20th century. Dr. Mike Daley (guitar and vocals) and Jill Daley (violin and piano) will present the music and story of this American songwriter. You'll learn how Berlin found his way into the competitive world of Tin Pan Alley songwriting with his indelible melodies and clever lyrics. Songs featured include "Blue Skies," "Alexander's Ragtime Band," "Cheek to Cheek" and more.

Dr. Mike Daley is a musicologist and sought-after lecturer on popular music history. A professional musician for over 30 years, Mike has toured Canada, United States and England and has recorded extensively in a variety of musical styles.

Jill Daley began studying music at the age of 3. She received a Bachelor’s Degree in Violin Performance from the State University of New York and attended graduate school at Boston University’s School for the Arts. Jill has performed with groups such as the Atlantic Classical Orchestra, Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra, Palm Beach Pops. Jill is also a full-time pianist at Canada’s National Ballet School.
