Writing in the sand
I sent this photo to my brother in England on Monday, to say “Happy Birthday” and to hopefully bring a smile to his face – it worked :) The message was written in the sand on a sunny afternoon, on a west end beach, close to where I live. It made me think about what message would I write to all of you? The all too familiar phrases came to mind – Stay Safe, Keep Well, Take Care.

As I thought some more, the message I think is most needed right now is Be Kind. Be kind to yourself as well as to others – including the dog and the beavers! Be kind to those you love as well as those you don’t know and maybe even those you find hard to like.

My message in the sand is long gone, washed away by the incoming waves. Acting with kindness has a lasting effect. Each act of kindness ripples out into the world: getting stronger, lifting spirits and nurturing hope.

In the spirit of kindness,
Karen Dale [in ministry with BUC]

Worship on January 17th, 10.30 am via Zoom
PLEASE NOTE we have changed the platform of delivery for this worship service. The format of a livestream service will remain the same, led by Karen Dale [minister] and Steven Webb [music director] from their homes. The “presenter mode” will be used so that the focus will be on the worship leader rather than the participants. Here is the link https://zoom.us/j/99648730942?pwd=dkpFNFFDV0VNbjlxTzZJeEs5R0ROQT09
