Manitoulin Musings

Hello everyone! I am back from a month away from work and am thankful for the time to re-charge and relax. Some of the month was spent on Manitoulin Island – the largest freshwater island in the world. Take no notice of those who claim that an island in the delta area of the Amazon, is the largest – it might be larger but a river delta is not purely freshwater!

I invite you to take some time to watch the video, which explores some of the spiritual awakenings and ponderings, which occurred during my time in this beautiful place. You will find this on the website or you can click here https://vimeo.com/443434237

Blessings, Karen Dale [in ministry with Beach United Church]

Pastoral Care updates
It is with sadness we announce the passing in April of June Helen Stewart at the age of 91. She will be sadly missed by her husband of 65 years, Layton. She was born, raised and lived most of her life on Lockwood Road in the Beach, and was a longtime member of Bellefair United Church.

It is with sadness that we announce the death of Pat O’Connor in July, of cancer. Pat and her husband, David Houlden, were former church members and Pat was head of M&P at the time of amalgamation. She will be fondly remembered by many.

It is with a combination of sadness and relief that we want to share the news that our mother, Sheila Richards, passed away on Wednesday July 22, 2020. She passed peacefully at The Grenadier Retirement Residence on Bloor St West where she had enjoyed living for the past five years despite dealing with Dementia. She and our father Ross Richards were long-time members of the Beach United community where they cherished participating in many aspects of church life and had many wonderful memories. Daughters; Jane Bowman and Gail Crossman
