Update to Vaccination Policy for In-Person Worship

On behalf of the Board we extend heartfelt Thanksgiving wishes to everyone in the Beach UC community and hope that however you chose to spend the weekend that it was exactly how you wanted it to be!

We have some important news to share with you about our return to in-person worship and what will be required to enter the building.

Beach United Church is committed to ensuring the health and safety of all who use the space. On the recommendation of the Operations Advisory Group (OAG), the Board has approved a change in policy requiring that everyone entering Beach United Church for in-person worship be fully vaccinated beginning with service planned for October 24th.

As a church community, we are committed to supporting people regardless of their vaccination status and will find other ways to respond to their needs. This includes on-line worship services and one-on-one connections on the phone and on Zoom as needed.

We assure you this decision to require full vaccination for in-person worship was not arrived at lightly. Since the arrival of COVID, the OAG has taken responsibility for developing polices and procedures to ensure the health and safety of everyone using the church building, considering the best available information, and consulting with user groups as best they can. Conditions related to COVID, public health recommendations and government regulations remain fluid and the policies and procedures at Beach United will evolve as required.

In addition to the requirement that everyone be fully vaccinated, the church continues to support and endorse all measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and its variants, and they will remain in place. These include social distancing, wearing masks inside, and frequent cleaning and disinfecting.

Anyone planning to attend in-person worship needs to register in advance and be prepared to provide proof of vaccination on the day of the service and to bring with you supporting photo ID, all of which is intended to minimize risk to self and others. To ensure we can support physical distancing we have a limited number of seats available for worship that can be reserved in advance on Eventbrite:

Those unable to use the Eventbrite system can phone the office between 9 am – 12 noon weekdays at 416-691-8082 to register.

Complete details on checking of vaccine certificates and other procedures can be found on the Eventbrite page. We ask that you only register for yourself or members of your household for contact tracing purposes. Registration will close each week on Friday at 11:30 am for the following Sunday morning services.

If you have questions or concerns with regards to this attendance requirement, please don’t hesitate to contact us at:

Full vaccination will be a requirement for other uses of the church building including renters and community groups. The implementation procedures are being worked out on a case-by-case basis by the OAG.

Giving thanks that we can now bring our community together:
