Book Talk: Surviving Dementia Care

Join us on Sunday, September 27 at 2 p.m. in Rooms 1 & 2 on the Main Floor for a conversation with D. Grant Campbell, author of Surviving Dementia Care: The Realities of Caregiving. Admission is free, books will be available for purchase, and donations in support of the Interfaith Lunch Program at Beach United are warmly welcomed.

Known for her ability to cross genres — from soulful jazz and reggae to the Great American Songbook — Laurel brings warmth, energy and an expressive voice that makes every song unmistakably her own. She’ll be joined by Jacob Damelin on piano and Jesse Visser on bass.

Stories That Refuse to Be Silenced

Join us for a compelling evening with two acclaimed Canadian women writers — Kim Echlin and Justine Abigail Yu — exploring storytelling, identity, belonging and whose voices get heard.

Giller Prize finalist and internationally acclaimed author Kim Echlin will read from her new book, Tell Others: Storytelling for a World in Turmoil. She’ll be joined by award-winning writer, storyteller and Living Hyphen founder Justine Abigail Yu, whose work amplifies the experiences of hyphenated Canadians.
