Abstract Advent - Four Purple Candles With Bokeh Lights On wooden Table

Endings and Beginnings

Have you noticed that it is easier to light a candle that has been previously lit, than it is to light a new wick? This Sunday I will be lighting the Advent candle of hope and I will be remembering the candles I have extinguished and lit during my time in ministry with Beach United Church. I will be aware of the cycles of endings and beginnings which are part of our lives and are reflected in the seasons of the church year.

This Advent and Christmas season we will again deliver Poinsettia to those friends who are unable to connect in person or on-line: as a reminder that they are held in our hearts. We invite you to make a donation towards the purchase of these plants, “In Memory & Celebration” of a person close to your heart.

You can do this in person on Sunday Dec 5&12 before or after the service. Pat Plue and Marian Hilton will be there to help you. Or you can send the name of your special person to karen@beachuc.com and donate on-line using this link https://beachunitedchurch.com/about-us/donate Add Poinsettia in the message box.

The pastoral care ministry is experiencing endings and beginnings as Marian Hilton steps out of the role of lead and Pat Plue takes on that role. We are very grateful to both Marian and Pat for their caring.

Advent blessings of hope to you all,
Karen Dale, in ministry with Beach United Church
