Longest night

Longest Night

Prayer for the longest night of the year, based on the hymn In the Quiet Curve of Evening VU278

Compassionate mystery, we come seeking refuge -
longing to sink into the quiet curve of evening.
We come seeking comfort –
hoping that in the silky void of darkness you will be there.
We come yearning to be held –
in the melting down of endings.
We are present –
and in the crater carved by sadness,
you are there.

It has seemed like a long wait but now I can tell you about my next call. I am joining with Richmond Hill United Church as they transition into a Centre for Community & the Arts by re-purposing part of their building; whilst keeping their heritage sanctuary. Exciting new beginnings for us all.

Advent blessings of love to each of you,
Karen Dale, in ministry with Beach United Church
