Spring wishes (at last) to everyone!
We have just experienced the Easter weekend and in spite of the challenges of a second year of honouring this sacred time in our faith community virtually it was done with passion, reverence and grace. A huge thanks to Karen, Steven and the amazing Beach UC staff, choir and community for the services and reflections marking Good Friday and Easter Sunday.

Writing this on a sunny morning with temperatures actually in the double digits is a sign things are moving in a positive direction in spite of the current lockdown. We are seeing a light at the end of what has been a very long tunnel with more and more people gaining access to vaccinations and the warmer weather offers a respite from being shut in. If only to sit outside on a balcony or a backyard, take a safe socially distanced walk or be able to frequent local retailers again (and yes, that does still mean waiting in line!).

We want to affirm our continuing message – the church is virtually open, planning for some new and innovative programming is underway and, as always, the amazing volunteers who in many ways define who we are continuing their service. The lunch program, virtual dinners to distant wineries, heartfelt Zoom discussions about meaningful films and receiving messages of hope in the mail – it is these and other ways of staying connected that affirm us and our commitment to remaining connected and present.

We are witnessing an evolution in creativity in terms of how we “Pivot and Adjust” to the circumstances happening in the world and our community and that is a form of action that we intend to make a permanent part of our mission and presence. At the same time the Board remains focused on our financial and organizational health; that is our role. As always, if you have comments, concerns or ideas to share please feel free to contact us:

Blessings to each and every one of you.
Brian, Barry, David & Nanci
