Many people have told me how they are communicating with friends they haven’t talked with in ages. It seems like during this period where we are physically separate, we are using the time to get closer with those who have drifted to the edges of our lives. There is less “Yes, we must connect again soon” and before we know it Christmas has rolled around again and we are hastily scribbling a note in a card. Now we are more likely to pick up the phone and talk.

When we talk and share our thoughts openly, we are changed in such encounters. Richard Rohr wrote - Prayer is not about changing God, but being willing to let God change us. When we talk, listen, ponder and respond to each other, God is present, transformation is possible – how exciting is that?!
