Christmas inside out!

In years past the inside of Beach United Church would be decorated for Christmas. Three large trees, festooned with lights, graced the sanctuary. The railing on both sides of the stairs was wound with greenery and lights. This year is different we have turned our decorating outwards to the street.

These two eye-catching posters were made by Charlotte and Natalie Kiel, ably assisted by their parents Colleen and David. I have watched from my desk in the office as people walking by have slowed down to take a look; then walked on with a smile on their face.

Last year on Christmas Eve people left their homes and came to fill the sanctuary with caroling voices, glowing faces and warm hearts; as the birth story of Jesus was told once again. This year the Christmas Eve service will go out over the internet and be received inside people’s homes on laptops, tablets and smart phones.

I hope that the Christmas story, however it is shared, will resonate in our hearts, so that we can reach out in love to a hurting world.

Wishing you all a blessed Christmas,
Karen Dale [in ministry with BUC]

The church office will be closed from December 25 to January 3, 2021.
