Beach United Church made an intentional decision to become an Affirming Community of Faith on Sunday, April 2, 2023. We now formally become part of Affirm United /S’affirmer Ensemble, a network of faith communities that proudly declare the full inclusion of all people embracing people of many identities. We acknowledge and consider our way of being in the world, aware of places of privilege and exclusion, known and unknown, that require our attention, so we can truly, authentically extend ourselves fully and lovingly to all.

In keeping with our missional direction of Exploring Faith and Building Relationships with God, People, and the Earth, Beach United Church is committed to intentional welcome and inclusion of all people in all aspects of the leadership, life, and work of our Community of Faith, honouring and affirming each person’s uniqueness: whoever YOU are; however YOU identify.
We celebrate diversity by inviting people of many identities, irrespective of gender identity, sexual orientation, culture, colour, age, race, differing ability, social or economic circumstance, ethnicity, marital status, family composition, or previous faith or non-faith experience.
With open minds, open arms, and open hearts we seek to be good stewards of God’s world by committing to walk a path of mutuality, equity, and respect. Our action is guided by Jesus’ teaching and ministry: nurturing relationship and seeking justice, as we stand in solidarity with people at the margins.
We are intentionally creating safe(r) space where opportunities exist for all to participate, according to their gifts and talents, in all aspects of the life, work and ministry of this Community of Faith.

Everyone who comes into our building for whatever reason will feel welcomed and accepted and experience an atmosphere that is free from all forms of discrimination, harassment, exploitation, or intimidation. Behaviour that is contrary to being open and inclusive is not tolerated.
